ED025 totally respect everything you say, but your love for Everton is clear. Are the other Eds impressed with us? Especially ED002?

{Ed025's Note - some of the other eds have praised our efforts duaney, ED002 is not really a big football fan mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

For someone not a fan his knowledge is amazing.

{Ed025's Note - tell me about it ray...if you only knew the people he knows and meets you would not believe it mate..

ED025 I really don't know how old you are but stick with me lol. My first clear memory was the classic 4-4 draw with Liverpool in the FA Cup. Is this the best place we have been in since then?

{Ed025's Note - im 59 duaney and have been a blue all my life mate, this is a very promising looking side with the potential to be very good, they cant compare yet to the mid 80,s side when we had the likes of steven, bracewell, reid and sheedy though, and strikers like latchford, sharpe and lineacre, not forgetting big nev, i just missed out on the harvey kendall, ball era but they were incredible, we all have our favourite teams in different era,s but for me that 80,s side was special, im sure mike and grumpy along with other more senior posters will have a different view and remember dixie and the golden vision mate..

I'm 35 now and I remember beating Forest 4-0 and finishing 3rd or 4th in the league but even that is a bit sketchy lol. The team that excited me the most is when we had Kanchelskis and Limpar as our wide men and legends like Ferguson and Speed. How did we let that team slip away so easily?

{Ed025's Note - lack of investment duaney..

Such a shame. Until Ronaldo arrived Kanchelskis was the most exciting right winger/ forward of the Premiership era.

{Ed025's Note - he was special mate..

My first match was a 4-3 win over Brighton, so I've been spoilt over the years! Like you Ed, have seen some great players wear the blue shirt. One player who always sticks in my mind, and I know he was past his best, was Norman Whiteside. What a player he was.

{Ed025's Note - i could not take to norman after he broke my heart in 85 at wembley mate..

I'm 29, my first proper Everton memory is the F. A. cup win in 95 (I do feel like I have a vague recollection of the Great Escape in 94 but I was only 6) . I challenge anyone to have a worst first match though. The first time I went to Goodison we got stuffed 5-1 by Norwich. bloody Efan Ekoku!

Duaney I saw big Norman going into the royal hospital in Belfast last year I shouted to him what about that flukey goal in 85 stopped using doing the treble he just burst into fits of laughter.

Born in '69, from Dorset, first posters on my wall were Latchford when he scored the 30 in a season. First Everton game was away to Southampton at The Dell, Alan Ball, was in the Saints side if I remember correctly. But the 80's I do remember. first Wembley Game was the Merseyside Milk cup final, before we won the '84 FA Cup. I also saw two Charity Sheilds (Vinny Samways! ) First Goodison game was much later, unfortunately when Smith was in charge. but I was there for Moyes first game (Fulham) . never heard an atmosphere like that when he walked out pre-game. But watching us win the Cup Winners Cup (on TV) was something else.

{Ed025's Note - i was lucky enough to be in rotterdam rich..great night mate..
