It was obvious that 777, were never anywhere near passing the test of being fit and proper persons to run a premier league football club, and had they done their job, F/ M Would have had to look for an alternative buyer, long ago.
So yes, our problems are of our own creation, but had the premium league done their job, this current crisis situation would never have arisen.
They are part of the problem and should be making a better fist of being part of the solution.

The latest footage from our new stadium is nothing short of stunning, can't wait to get up there for a visit.

They say you should not speak ill of the dead, and I do not intend to do so.
However given the clubs present situation, it seems reasonable to consider the roll of Bill Kenwright, Bill was, I believe a committed Evertonion, but was gravely mislead in the choices he made in respect of the clubs future financial stability.

If as we and Bill were told F/M was a man of great personal wealth, surely his reliance on his Russian friend for funding, should have started to ring warning bell,s long before the Russian war took him out of the picture.
And whilst bill bears some responsibility, the roll of the premier league should also come into question, happy to use us as their whipping boy.

With the money that was spent, we should have a squad capable of competing at the top of the table. Our income would have increased with success and we might not be where we are now.

Also worth pointing out that many people said at the time Moshiri was simply a front for Usmanov and we chose to look the other way because hey Money money money. It's been said before, but for the last time I hope.

We made our bed, we have to lie in it. We have had plenty of opportunities to put things right, ED02 has been correctly calling out how bad things are for many years - and if he knew, then EFC must have known too, and that is everyone that ran this club not just Bill.

If it wasn't for the Ukrainian conflict then perhaps the duo's deceitful money swaps may and I say may have turned out to be legal if unorthodox and perhaps even would have managed to convolute a viable excuse for some of the over spending. But it didn't work that way. Not sure Bill could have foreseeable insight as it's been a right old house of cards. Guess the safe stance to take is all Billionaires probably did some pretty savage stuff at some points to build that kind of wealth. We probably need a consortium of millionaires who can all reign eachother in? Billionaires suck.

If I am correct, Usmanov and Morshiri wanted to increase their shares in Arsenal but, Cronke said no. Maybe he knew something that should have sounded alarm bells to others.

Personally this close season I have vowed not to worry about incomings and outgoings this close season . I know we will have to sell some players and more will be out of contract. I also know that players that come in may not be of the quality we desire . However I will not stress and trust in our manager and DOF to get it right . This may change by July šŸ˜.

I for one do not trust our DOF.

I would like a complete clear out. DOF, SD, coaching staff. We've lost our way in the ability to bring in youngsters and end up with a finished product. Why have an academy if we let them go because a manager does not rate them.

Have to say I am bothered about Dyche's comments on Jack Harrison. not only his seeming desire to sign him, but his positive evaluation of the effect he has had. Have to say that on the evidence of what I saw this season, that calibre of player is only going to leave us in the lower regions. no pace to speak of. so does not get to the line beating a full back. and his dribbling ability is not that great either. loses possession or fails to hit the right pass regularly. When it comes to end product there have to be better possibilities out there.

I havnt seen that statement but if true he's certainly not worth 30 mill if that's his actually future fee i honestly think we can get better an cheaper alternatives if we can be assed to go abroad an scout in belgium norway leagues even south Europe always a hidden gem just got to be found.

I would not be investing money in his fee or wages, better spent elsewhere.

I put together a list of players a week or so back that we could realistically target, one of those being AZ Alkmaar RB - Yukinari Sugawara.

I have just read that we are tracking him, along with Inter and Brighton. For the first time in a few years I have read a transfer rumour that I actually wish to be true.

He would sort that RB spot out for us for sure. Rumoured to be available for about 6m, he is exactly the signing that we should be making.

Downside is, if Brighton and Inter are keen, there is no chance he picks us.

Why would u pick Brighton over the mighty toffees our fanbase is an appeal to anyone before 5 years ago nobody heard of brighton.

From our current squad, bearing in mind that we will need to keep hold of some players as squad players, who would you keep, sell and release from them all?
Mine would be:

Jordan Pickford (keep)
Joan Virginia (keep)
Andy Lonergan (contract expire, release)
Billy Crellin (contract expire, release)
Nathan Patterson (keep, loan out)
Michael Keane (sell)
James Tarkowski (keep)
Ashley Young (contract expire, release)
Vitalii Mykolenko (keep)
Ben Godfrey (keep)
Seamus Coleman (contract expire, renew)
Jarrad Branthwaite (keep)
Dwight McNeil (keep)
Amadou Onana (sell)
Abdoulaye Doucoure (keep)
Dele Alli (contract expire, release)
Andre Gomes (contract expire, release)
Idrissa Gana Gueye (contract expire, release)
James Garner (keep)
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (keep)
Beto (sell)
Yourself Chermiti (keep, loan out)
Lewis Dobbin (keep)
Arnaut Danjuma (loan expire)
Jack Harrison (loan expire)

Returning from loan

Mason Holgate (sell)
Really Maupay (sell)
Sean McAllister (contract expiring, renew)
Eli Campbell (keep)
Harry Tyrer (keep)
Stanley Mills (keep, promote)
Zan-Luk Leban (keep)

I don't know much about the under 21's but players I'd like us to keep and renew contacts would be:

Lewis Warrington (release)
Charlie Whitaker (loan out)
Mackenzie Hunt (renew)
Tyler Onyango (loan out/ promote)
Martin Sherif (loan out)

Isaac Heath (loan out)
Francis Okoronkwo (keep, promote)

I'd be very similar to you, although I'd actually keep Chermiti to be the backup to DCL, coming on for 25 mins gaining experience and developing that way, with Beto being the one to go out on loan. He's very raw, but I don't think you should give up on him after just one season. Allow him a season at a newly promoted club, Ipswich or perhaps a West Brom/ Norwich type club if they win playoffs, where he can play much more regularly. It gives him a year to fully adjust to demands of Premier League and allows us to assess him then - is he showing the necessary quality, can he make an impact moving forward in future etc. It worked an absolute treat when a raw Lukaku took a loan to Brom and developed into a very decent player.

Based on the last 3 seasons (this one when we were on that massive winless run) idk if we can risk loaning Beto to a Newley promoted club WEFC. depending on our sales/ releases and recruitment (which is likely to be very limited) , we could be battling at the bottom again.
I do agree with Optimus on most releases/ sales, except Gana, and I am somewhat resigned to losing Branth, as much as Iā€™d love to keep him. We also definitely canā€™t go down to 1 senior striker in Dom by selling Beto and loaning Chermiti, we wonā€™t have the funds to replace.
In any case, with that many outgoings we will need a lot of astute recruitment to have a squad for next season!

Tmh, we do have an option to extend Gana's contract by another year but given he is on Ā£130k a week it's a massive wage for someone his age and that sort of money could be spent a lot more wisely hence the reason why I said to release him.

What a great last couple of games it's been. Going to the March yesterday was such an enjoyable experience. The last few years have been unbearable and the stress i and probably most of you have all felt has taken my ticker to breaking point.

I have no idea how I feel about SD. One minute I hate the football then the next I love the guy again. I do truly feel that if he had the right personal he could improve the football we play. I mean, Ancelotte was labelled with the boring football but has got Real into another final.

So what is it we all want?

I'll be honest and say that at least for the next 2 years we need stability. We can't keep changing managers. It will help with keeping the players we have and help in getting players through the door. More importantly it will help in getting the right buyers.

If we'd have had an average last 3 seasons there would be plenty wanting to take over the club. Stable mid table team. Stable. manager and squad and about to move into a brand new world class stadium. The club has debt but everything else is in place so why not. However, from top to bottom the club has been a mess with only SD a real constant for us.

777 are still favourites to take us over. Josh has gone and they look like bringing in others to steer it steady. I personally don't want them anywhere near us and I'm hoping MSP are the ones to come in. There are others but I don't think any of that is serious.

MSP seem to have our best interest at heart but also seem to have genuine resources to tap into. Not sure about their track record but McLaren in F1 have matured back into grand prix winning contenders after years of failure.

Either way, we're not likely to be signing anyone unless they are free and we'll lose both Jarrad and Onana in the summer along with a host of players out of contract. We have to sell both as we now need to start paying for Beto and are still paying instalments for onana and a few others. That means we'll be looking to our youth team to fill gaps.

There are a few that I think can come into the mix. Chermitti looks like he is maturing into a genuine contender. If DCL doesn't want a new contract we need to sell him but I'm not so worried as I was before. Plus Dobbin and Patterson are a year on. They've both got potential but maybe it's games and a run of them they need.

Anyway one game to go. Could give two hoots about it which is one of the best things SD has done for all of us.

Hey Jimbochaddy answering your question re our squad if we could do it I would bin around 8 of them and go for players like the Luton forwards, and Diaz is another and there's Ben Johnston on a free together with players from our youth, Dobbin and one or two others, regards Sean it's been a season of what if he started off great then the wheels came off and dire footy was being played and then our last half a dozen games have been superb, he was brought in to do a job and I have no doubt he more than achieved that, when the footy was so bad around 15 games of it I wanted him gone but all due credit to the guy I believe he's earned it give us our points back and we would be 11th at least we could have finished top 10 maybe, the footy was poor because of what was happening with everthing the team and manager had no control of, this huge hall of points lately has seen us rocket up the table, there are worse teams around us of that I am sure but at the end of the day he kept us up, that's my opinion but no doubt a couple would want to shoot holes in it that's up to them, I am looking forward to the summer window and all that goes with it and then the start next season but first let's beat them Goooooooners next Sat and our players will be worth double cheers mate.
