seen a lot of blues online wanting dunc to take charge for rest of the season, my thing to say is let's not get carried away. great result on saturday and brilliant for him, but one result doesn't mean he should be given it until the end of the season, everton should still be looking to get a manager in now that they see taking the club forward into beyond the end of next season so he can start building with what remains of this season, do i think vitor periera is the man? not so sure.

DFS, let me know when you go for a brace (I'll have a drink to celebrate )

oh no absolutely blue, i'm made up for him and still absolutely buzzing now, just wouldn't want it to turn sour for him if he continued, as he's even said himself this is a job for a top manager.

Just a quick question to above posters, forget rest of the season, my question is this.

Would you want a new Manager for next Wednesdays cup tie at Goodison, or Dunc on the sideline.

For my penny’s worth, I would have Dunc there to get Goodison rocking under the lights.

After that then if needed bring the new Manager in.

For now though, I would take it a game at a time and not rush a new Manager in just yet.

its a tough one bignev, told everyone who would listen we'd beat chelsea as they're in a bit of a slump at the minute, poor against west ham and villa 9even though they scraped a win) leicester is a different game who will bring their best side, its difficult its a tough game either way.

It is wblue, that is why I think we need any advantage we can get, if we go a goal down, with Dunc Managing, the crowd will still get behind the team.

However with a new Manager, the crowd might not be so forgiving.

Personally myself, I would have Dunc in charge of the Leicester game, keep it simple and get stuck in like they did last Saturday.

Well it's down to the crowd to keep the atmosphere rocking even if a goal down, big dunc in charge or not. Goodison shouldn't need an icon on the touchline to get them motivated.

If we can get our 1st choice manager in then get him in. If not then Dunc would be my choice and reevaluate on a game by game basis.

i'd like to think a new manager gets a crowd going regardless bignev, all be it if its moyes big sam maybe not, but if its a manager say gallardo optimism rises again, dunc has the connection but normally the new manager factor kicks in either way.

I can see logic in keeping him in charge till Christmas period is out the way, we will need everything Dunc gave that team on Saturday the basics which is what we need at mo not someone who is going to take time to get his philosophy across. It’s quite obvious there was no plan to deal with Silva sacking we all saw it coming weeks prior. They should of been planning for couple of months, so don’t rush now while there is someone that is getting the players to fight for everything,

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that metz..

Agree Metz, Dunc did the basic things and the team knew what they had to do, bringing a Manager right away could or could not work.

He has to get his set play across which might take a few weeks, for the time being, we saw what Dunc brought to the team, no note pads, no over complicated tactics, just sheer hard work and closing players down.

Why rush for now.
