On DCL I was about to agree with all those in support of him in the below thread - he feeds off limited supply and all that.

Then I looked at his xG by season for us, for his first 6 seasons his goals scored and xG were uncannily close. Even when his chances were limited before Carlo, he put away what came his way. Last 2 seasons he has 5 goals from an xG of over 15! Yes it his xG is significantly lower so he is feeding off a lower supply but he's simply not putting away even the good chances he is getting - and of the 5 goals I am pretty sure 2 were penalties!

He is a good focal point but a very poor finisher.

Is it a coincidence that in the last 2 years he as struggled with injuries and setbacks EFCONE and his own mental health resulting in him losing that scoring instinct both mentally and physically.

The lads struggling in front of goal but his playing style is key to how we set up, is Beto any better? For me we stick with Dom or change our tactics.

Agree there may well be multiple reasons for the issues - I'm not saying specifically we should drop him now but from a financial standpoint we should move on the summer. Any sale would be 100% upside for FFP and since there is no way we can make back what we paid on Chermiti and Beto our only course of action is try and make them better. They won't do that on the bench.

Could well be why we are sticking with him EFCONE financially, a few seasons ago we could probably commanded £50+million certainly when Carlo was here, now we struggle get £20million with his public knowledge of his injuries etc and his loss of goalscoring form his stock isn't as high, maybe the club are hoping that he gets somewhere near his best as nearing his prime and maximise a cash out with him to help FFP as decent profit margin on the £1.5million we paid for him.

Agree on Beto and Chermiti, need game time but not upto premier standards ATM, catch 22 ain't it and Dyche isn't 1 for chopping and changing all not helped by our periolous league position or exits in cup.

How about playing him as a link (10) between Beto/ Chermiti/ Dobbin whoever we can get to score. Will then take pressure off and he might even score.

Beto will omly be here another year maximum. He's not premiership standard by a long shot.
