I always rated Walcott š
We are on a good run - hopefully keep it going into Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, and Liverpool games
One game at a time - palace next - 3 points please!
Lastly - I know Pickford has been dodgy last couple of games but he had no chance with either goal - their 2nd was a great finish.
02 Feb 2020 08:18:31
I disagree bud I thought Walcott sigs and Delph where terrible and as for Iwobi well he pulled out of every 50/ 50 challenge and is another player who should be moved on.
I thought Delph was very unlucky to get sent off though and I thought we deserved the win I also want to give a shout out to Holgate I have argued with fellow blues over the last 13 months that he is the answer and he is now showing them I was right funnily enough they have been avoiding me ššš great win though and onto palace next week which if we want Europe is a must win.
02 Feb 2020 08:39:12
Holgate has been one of our best players this season. He's really stepped up.
02 Feb 2020 10:12:08
I was being sarcastic about Walcott.
02 Feb 2020 20:24:01
Holgate has been brilliant. Our strength seems to lie in the younger players atm. I think that loan at West brom did him the world of good. He is significantly our best CB and arguably our best defensive player this season. He has been like a new signing. Walks ib the team every week and is one of the first names on the team sheet for me atm.
03 Feb 2020 11:25:04
iwobi gets so much unfair stick. everygame he's picked out, he made a clear cut chance that richy maybe should have done better with and has our most successful rate of passes forward. he's a positive player who does fine, but still gets abuse for no reason.
01 Feb 2020 19:38:34
Think Marco Silva deserves some praise, his team are now just 3 points off 5th.
Your thoughts Blues?
01 Feb 2020 20:12:59
Made me chuckle that. Should get a fair few responses.
01 Feb 2020 20:45:42
I praise marco for leaving everton football club.
01 Feb 2020 21:32:49
Just think of all the points they/ he/ var threw away, would comfortably been in 4th.
02 Feb 2020 08:21:16
It was the right choice in releasing Silva but he was very unlucky lost 77% of his midfield to injury and VAR screwed us over with sheff utd and Bournemouth both having goals allowed that should not of been then we had Brighton pen arsenal handball spurs we should of had 2 pens and I can't think of one decision that has gone our way reg VAR.
02 Feb 2020 09:08:28
Not sure how this var thing works but it checked 2 possible red card decisions, then when we actually get the softest 2nd yellow that could only happen to us, I didn't see it checking or did I just miss it? It can be used to spot possible reds but not to see if there correct? It's a terrible system and only seams to only be beneficial to certain clubs.
02 Feb 2020 10:15:11
I said the same Dunc why wasn't it checked I'm not sure if VAR was brought in to benefit some teams and not bother with others for me both of delphs bookings were harsh as he wins the ball in both incidents and it shows just how soft our game has become when your booked for those.
02 Feb 2020 12:27:12
I understand what heās saying. As soon as some players are at late 20ās, early 30ās some fans write them off for being too old or āpast itā which is absolute rubbish. Most the best players in Europe are around these sorts of ages, the two obvious ones are few years older š¤·š»āāļø.
02 Feb 2020 12:35:23
I thought VAR only checked for straight reds. I donāt think they check for yellows. Which means they wouldnāt look at Delph.
Neither was a yellow that being said - Iām hopeful it will be rescinded.
02 Feb 2020 17:30:22
Unless they've changed it they can't rescind when it's 2 yellows Sobs - yet another ludicrous rule! So you can have a player miss a match as a result of potentially 2 poor decisions but if the ref makes one poor decision FA are happy to reverse it!
01 Feb 2020 19:22:46
You know a lot was being made of Everton signing a 29 year old midfielder. Well i have just watched Moutinho for Wolves who is 33, and probably the best passer of the ball on the pitch.
So let's not write off 29 year olds boys. If they are good enough, then it doesn't matter.
01 Feb 2020 19:33:17
Blue I said this about a month ago, I donāt care how old they are as long as they can do a job.
01 Feb 2020 19:36:04
I donāt think people have written the likes of Allan off due to their ago in isolation, itās more a case that with the clubs situation i am not sure he fits the recruitment model.
But I would take each case for a player on its own merit, Gueye is now 30 and he can boss the midfield still gutted he went.
01 Feb 2020 20:00:49
Not sure what youāre on about Brassington?
Moutinho has always been class - regardless of age he doesnāt play for us though.
01 Feb 2020 20:08:36
If there good enough why not a 28+ player the younger players can learn a lot from them, in the short term we could possibly grow and raise reputation and attract better players. As southern toffee says we miss gueye and did any of us ever question his age?
{Ed025's Note - and we could bring back yakubu dunc...after all hes only 23...or so it says on his passport mate.. :)
01 Feb 2020 20:33:02
Ginger, try reading one word at a time, and then put a sentence together. It has nothing to do with who he is playing for.
01 Feb 2020 23:46:33
I have read your post and still it makes no sense to me.
What 29 year old was being written off?
Just because moutinho a 33 year old was the best player In the Man U game in your opinion doesnāt mean much.
Weāve got Schneiderlin, Sigurdsson, Delph and Walcott who are all 30 but none of them can dictate games for us or pass a ball that well.
01 Feb 2020 17:07:27
Got to be honest. I much preferred the performance against Newcastle than the one today.
Having said that we've won from behind for first time in ages.
What does that say?
I know nothing
COYB NSNO.
01 Feb 2020 19:23:56
it could say they are learning quickly what Carlo expects.
03 Feb 2020 11:25:52
i much preffered the 3 points compared to the 1 point.
01 Feb 2020 17:06:18
fantastic result well played blue boys will have drink for that tonight well done C. O. Y. B.
01 Feb 2020 17:05:06
Great win. Silva never won a game when losing and Carlo done it early in his reign. He has instilled something in us and players seem to be fighting for each other again. At 2 nil down I was so depressed but great team spirit and Walcott getting the winner even though he was awful all game was a bonus.
01 Feb 2020 17:01:56
Not sure how I feel about that game or the performance. But coming from 2-0 down away from home is something that Everton can't usually do. Good 3 points. Watford only had 2 shots on target, not good for Pickford.
01 Feb 2020 20:22:51
Who cares really about how we get the result? I for one donāt as long as the 3 points are secured. Watford have been on a good run and Iām just glad we won (however it came) !
{Ed025's Note - im with you leicester, actually mate i thought it was quite an entertaining game..
01 Feb 2020 14:58:51
Gutted to see moise dropped woukd of likedto see moise an dcl upfront an Richarlison on the right for Walcott.
Fancy us todsy though to win and put a performance in.
01 Feb 2020 14:56:00
I won't question Ancelotti but I think it's wrong to let Iwobi and Sigurdsson walk straight back into the team especially when Bernard and Kean were very good in last Match the last thing we want is for Kean to loose confidence, he must of been expecting to start today.
01 Feb 2020 15:00:43
Gotta say mate I agree eorhhe moise kean point, woukd of liked to see human dcl uofri t an and Richarlison wide right instead of Walcot,
Let see how it pans out.
I must be the only one who likes iwobi.
01 Feb 2020 15:29:02
Have to agree what is it with sigurdsson that allows him to keep getting picked terrible team selection for me.
01 Feb 2020 14:53:48
I'm not CA and obviously he is seeing things I'm not but I'm disappointed Bernard is missing today and that he hasn't found any space on the bench at least for Gordon.
01 Feb 2020 13:10:21
Striker has been a position that has troubled us for a long time. Lukaku filled that role very well and there was a glaring hole when he left. We had real problems trying to get a striker. Now the forwards are the strongest part of the team this season. Calvert Lewin and Richarlison have been fantastic in what has been a poor season. They are only 22 as well. Plus we have a very promising young lad in Moise Kean. He was very good in his last outing. We also have Broadhead. The future does certainly seem bright for our forwards.
01 Feb 2020 11:37:13
So just to recap our January transfer window.
In:
Jarrad Branthwaite (Carlisle, undisclosed)
Out:
Kieran Dowell (Wigan, loan)
Callum Connolly (Fleetwood, loan)
Cenk Tosun (Crystal Palace, loan)
Morgan Feeney (Tranmere, loan)
Lewis Gibson (Fleetwood, loan)
Jonas Lossl (Huddersfield, loan)
Antony Evans (Paderborn, loan)
Kieran Phillips (Huddersfield, loan)
I think it was always to be expected that we were going to have more going out than in. There are players like Martina (contract expiring in the summer) and Niasse who I genuinely expected to be going in this window if I'm honest. The biggest challenge will be to offload the unwanted players. No doubt it will be in motion approaching the next transfer window or months before. The summer should be interesting at least.
{Ed002's Note - The fee for JB is Ā£1M plus Ā£50k payment to The FA. There are no agent fees and relocation and other fees do not need to be disclosed, but won't be much.}
