Heared a rumour that Barkley had a bust up with woy before tournament hope he doesn't come back with his head up his backside.

It's a good job the girl from stocking the freezers couldn't get off or it would have been more than 2-1.

It's not you mate, I was about to post the same thing.
Even Mrs RIB who knows nothing about football just said the same thing, commenting how our 6-year-old daughter makes more sense.

On par with Townsend mate.

Just glad Stones isn't playing because he'd have been blamed for both goals.

He gives the ball away, takes up a place in the starting 11, blasts balls wide when shooting and then get injured?

i think that's just about everything the lad does.

{Ed025's Note - that just about sums it up greg..

27 Jun 2016 20:50:56
Palace have agreed a £31m pound agreement for batshauyi, I thought we should of gone for him if he didn't want champions league football.

28 Jun 2016 15:41:10
Papers linked him with us for as little as £7.5 a couple seasons back when he was at Standard Liege. Missed a good player there.

I think on tonight's evidence I'd rather Forster than Hart for goalkeeper. also - 45 mins for Hodsgen to save his job.

Iceland remind me of Wimbledon in the late 80's. Not very refined or cultured but play for each other, great team spirit and blooming difficult and annoying to try and play against.

Looks like we're going to exit Europe for the second time in a week. Absolute rubbish.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Jun 2016 21:01:05
Apparently Sterling is playing because he gives us pace out wide. Sturbridge? Rooney trying to get the lads to move the ball forward quicker, then passes it backwards? Absolute crap.

Did you see the work rate of Pelle in the game against Spain? When was the last time an EFC striker put in a shift like that? Sign him up now.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

27 Jun 2016 20:10:26
Was a little bit sceptical when he was mentioned as our striker but really have to change my mind. Works hard, holds the ball up well, flicks it on very well. Also knows how to play as a 2. maybe him next to lukaku? Leaving rom to run onto his knock downs and power through?

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2016 20:27:24
What do you mean big Roms work rate was like that every game last year hahaha.

according to 'Inside fotbol' RK has put in a bid for 'Léo Lacroix'

Ed001 ( if your'e avaialable) have you any thoughts re his performances against the Reds?

Cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I really can't remember him standing out to be honest. The Sion defence seemed a decent unit, well drilled. To be honest, with Koeman in charge, his system tends to work well to protect defenders and get the most out of them, in the main. So I would not have any worries about anyone he targeted.}

27 Jun 2016 19:24:50
Thanks for the reply Ed. Never watched those 2 matches however they weren't 'goal fests' to say the least which kind of indicated to me the Swiss lads were fairly solid at the back.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, Liverpool never played well in either, so it is difficult to judge him. If it had been played later in the Klopp era, it would have given a better idea.}

27 Jun 2016 18:15:58
If lfc throw another £50 mill in I reckon they could of bought saints. 😂😂.

Would anyone take Hakim Ziyech from FC Twente?

We were linked with the lad a couple season back when he was at Heverneen (excuse the spelling) but instead opted to move to Twente, who I believe are in financial trouble and may be removed from the Eredivise?

Lad played so well for them that they made him their captain even though he's as young as 22-24 and had only been at the club for less than a full season.

Recently seen him linked with palace, could Twente's financial issues see this guy leave on the cheap?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - even though twente are in financial trouble they are unlikely to sell him on the cheap greg, he is very highly thought of in holland and im sure there will be quite a few clubs looking to acquire his services mate..

27 Jun 2016 12:39:51
Out of curiosity how many of you chaps want to see Niasse sold?

I think he needs a better chance at the prem. Yes he played like a donkey in the glimpses that we did see but I'd like for him to have another season under Keoman to prove himself.

Aaaaand for my birthday (Feb 23rd) dad thought that with the rumours about likely, Mirallas (at the time) and stones etc being linked away, that he'd buy me an Everton shirt with Niasse on it. Doesn't look so good now dad.

If RK keeps him, then that tells me he thinks he can improve etc. . . otherwise he really is surplus to requirements .

27 Jun 2016 13:42:48
Keep hold of it pal, it could be a collectors item in years to come.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Jun 2016 15:47:12
Sadly I think you may be right smit hahaha

13 goals and 8 odd assists in Russia means he must have some idea of what he's doing. Many players have gone on to flop in the prem when coming from other leagues. Let's hope RK can either get Niasse firing or atleast get some decent money for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2016 19:33:47
I know the lads not been given a proper chance yet but I think if someone put in a half decent bid we should accept pronto as we might get very little for him after a bit more game time. Reminds me of kone. I'm sure he can hit the net every now and then but if he can't even do it in training then I doubt he will do it on the day. I vote out!

Have we got any real transfer targets or is it still just media talk to fill the gaps.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Jun 2016 12:18:18
I would likely think that we will atleast give Mandanda a look because he's free and played and a relatively high level of football with Marsielle over the years.

West Ham picking up Feghouli on a free is great business, I hope we follow suit. (But of course splash the cash where needed)

27 Jun 2016 11:39:17
£34 million for Sadio Mane. That is a very inflated price. 5 players have joined liverpool from Southampton in the last 3 years. Surely you can't have a feeder club in the same league (tongue in cheek)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

27 Jun 2016 11:53:12
It would be a hell of a lot cheaper for them to go get there scouts 😂😂😂.

27 Jun 2016 12:19:19
Saw in the paper that over the past 2-3 seasons Liverpool have spent £100M (possibly just over) on just Southampton players.

Question for the ED's. With the up and coming move out of the EU do you think if will affect EU players with their consideration of moving back to an EU club. From what is being said all the EU citizens currently working within the UK will not be required to leave. As footballers often transfer between EU and UK clubs I expect once they leave they will find it very difficult to get back into the UK if they are not established internationals. Also do you think the UK teams will be positively or adversely affected and why.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - it will make little, if any, difference for a couple of years at least. After that, well it will make little difference then either.}

27 Jun 2016 12:22:52
Exactly Ed001 a commonsense approach at last and without getting into the Politics I would say that applies all across the board. People really are not stopping to think. You would think the majority of them never had an education.

Agree2 Disagree1

{Ed001's Note - it is the millenium bug hysteria all over again mate. People just like to panic over nothing these days.}

27 Jun 2016 09:56:57
100m isn't massive in today's market i predict that west ham will out spend us!

Believable0 Unbelievable6

27 Jun 2016 11:23:06
So? Newcastle spent 80 mill in Jan and look where that got them. Just because there is a reported £100 mill + doesn't mean we have to spend it. From what I've heard, most of WH's budget will go towards signing a top striker anyway.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Jun 2016 11:45:07
Good reply Hugo . . . Spending copious amounts of money on so called 'marquee signings' is something kids in the playground boast about!

I'm of the opinion that RK would be looking for relevant quality to enhance 'his' squad and not overpaid 'prima donnas'

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Jun 2016 12:13:19
I assume because RK hasn't already blown our £100mil on Jannsen, Hart, Mata, Nani, Strootman and all the other mentioned players, he has his head screwed on and will only buy who we need and when we need them.
The only position we can be certain he needs to strengthen at the moment is GK.
He came to us not because he had £100mil of players he wanted to buy but probably because he knew Southampton would be having another summer (everything must go) sale.

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Jun 2016 12:22:48
Considering the fact that West Ham have singed 2-3 players already and I believe all of them are on a free shows that if they do out spend is it will be down to a big signing or two from them or small purchases from ourselves.

Neither seem too likely considering the players we are being linked with and the prices being quoted.

I have to say though if we are stupid enough to splash £40M on Hart then I doubt we will be outspent ;)
