Well the 25th Oct will soon be on us with the beginning of the enquiry into FFP. There doesn’t appear to be any early noise around the media on this, surprisingly, as they usually like to put the boot in when it comes to Everton.
Have any of the EDs heard anything? Fingers crossed we can defend our position well, as they keep stating they will, and come out of this situation reasonably unscathed. A points deduction would be catastrophic, a fine seems counterproductive, maybe a transfer ban is the best outcome.
Either way as a club we are still in a financial mess and will have this hanging over us for many years to come.
{Ed025's Note - Everton are claiming that they have done nothing wrong Chalkie but there is no smoke without fire. After calling foul on us they must have some evidence to back it up mate. Could be massive in the grand scheme of things..

If we are found guilty of any offence I think we will get a fine.

The year in question, was givern the all clear, no case to answer by the premium league.
Stuck me as very odd, that having looked at the books, they come up with no case to answer, then a long time latter, their view changes to a charge.
Who, or what changed their mind?
I know we are all a little paroniid, but I think that we deserve an answer as to what brought about their change of Stance.

Utd reported £1b debt, Chelsea were similar few years back. I wonder how our accounts compare and where we have screwed up. If it is on wages and balancing the books, how come we haven’t hired accountants like the ones in Manchester or London to prevent this mess? It’s not like we were short of cash back then.

The Glazers financed the buy out by borrowing against the club’s future value, so they’ve had that debt or thereabouts for nearly 20 years which I think is before the P&L rules came in. It’s the rolling three year loss rule that’s done us, and we had nobody at the club with the brain to realise where we stood with it. No idea how they could think a £430m loss with a limit of £110m or whatever it is would be OK, even with C.V.
