I liked it. told the player that if you don't want to be here then get out. No player is bigger than the club and that's the mistake we've been making for years.
He's taking no sh*t, rafa, and we need that new mentality. He talks a good game, now he going to have to start walking it too, as he's getting his own players in.
I think if we don't have a better 2nd half of the season, fans (most of whom who have already made up their minds) will scream and shout for him to go but I think we will improve.

Embarrassing wasnt it mate? Loves it paint himself as a victim. All the talk about individual stats meaning nothing to him when he was spouting waffle about our running stats. Also wave goodbye to any leverage we had in the Digne deal. How anyone can still have faith in him is beyond me.

Majority of fans been moaning about our overpaid prima Donnas who don’t give a stuff about the club or how they perform to earn their obscene wages.
Yet when the manager stands up to one he’s at fault ?♂️
Some of our fans are ridiculous.
Digne was great, hasn’t been for 18months and clearly wants out (even before Rafa confirmed that today we all knew it) yet Rafa getting criticised for it is ridiculous.
We can criticise Rafa for results and playing style and current slump but for standing up to a player? Mental.
That’s what majority have wanted a manager who will stand up to these wasters in the team and now we have one - still moan moan moan.

Spot on Dan. Digne kept swanning back and forth to France, rafa wanting him to stay and train and be ready 100%.
Digne has been poor ain't his first season, can't remember his last assist or free kick goal. Can't defend, most goals come down his side.
There was a reason Barcelona wanted rid of him, maybe we are seeing it now.
Not saying rafa totally blameless, he could have been the bigger man and played him but totally agree that if players don't want to be here the get shut.

I got to say I agree with geoff and Dan on this one. Let’s be honest Benitez’s form is terrible and despite the injury hit team I believe he and the team should of picked up more points in the past few months. I don’t agree it’s his ‘old tactics’ at all. No one was saying that at the beginning of the season. More like him trying to find his best eleven with what he has had left but again has made some dreadful decisions. With that being said I like the fact he doesn’t take no shiz from our prima donna players that don’t work hard enough and at last he’s been able to spend some money. Who knows what the future holds and whether he’ll be able to turn it around but I agree we’ve needed a manager with some back bone for years. 1-3 coyb ?.

Absolutely spot on with your posts Dan and Geoff. We've complained about the toxic atmosphere around the club and now people moaning about the manager ridding the dressing room of a bad apple (who has been poor for 18 months) . Rafa deserves some criticism for tactics and results, but if you start going after him for things like this I am afraid you are left without a single shred of credibility.

I agree but saying he wants to go means club will be lowballing us with offers. He is easily 30 to,40 million pound left back but we're be lucky to get 25 now. He end up going on loan somewhere.

The problem is we are only hearing one side of the story - Rafas - and he is not known for telling the whole side of any story
Who knows what he said to Digne before, during and after Digne's supposed request to leave the club? Do you all honestly believe Rafa's version is the full story when you look at his history with other players
In time the whole or more of the story will come out and my view will be that it will show both parties haven't acted well and as a result Everton will suffer as we will get less than we could of for Digne if handled profesionally.

Some of you are willing to use any situation against Rafa just because you want him gone! Comically childish to say the least.
Now that there has been a direct answer to the question, some want to hold out for 'both sides of the story' even though they had been blaming Rafa for the situation the previous week with only speculation as their source!
We all get it, you want the manager out and that's fine, you're all entitled to your opinion. It's just comical how you can't go one post without droning on about it ?

I want to back him blue patato but he making it so hard to back him. Plus are form is awful and his tatics are awful. We are 100 percent in reglation battle. Anyone I want us to win today. Hopefully see some of young players as they have some more battle in them then overpaid experienced players. What your opinion ed 25.
{Ed025's Note - i just want to see progress bretto and if thats with rafa then so be it, the club is bigger than any individual mate and its imperative that we avoid relegation, i think the next few games are pivotal..

That's the thing, Bretto, if people are judging him on just what's happening on the pitch then I understand the angst, totally. It's when people are using other things to further their agenda against the manager that strikes me as daft mate. Hopefully, things will soon improve on the pitch.
