Decided I'm not slating Beto anymore. Keeps proving me wrong and tries hard. Suprised Pickford not getting more of the blame for first goal - not sure why Everton tight - but who cares 3 points and we have a cracking midfield for first time in years!
4 games / 3 wins - excellent - very happy!

He got his goal yesterday but the rest of his play wasnt great. Didn't see him win one header or hold the ball up and that's more important.
If he holds the ball up, it brings other players into the game and we create more attacks. It also takes the pressure off the team. Ndiaye wins more aireal duels which is crazy for the size of him.
However, I've got a lot of time for players who go onto the pitch and give everything and he does that and more.

Holding the ball up is more important than scoring goals? Really. Some of the best goalscorers in history couldn't control a ball or hold play up. I'd rather he scored every game.

He won't though Big Reg, there are no more Dixie Deans. That's why he has to be more. You ain't daft. You know he needs to be more than that and that's why longer term he can't be the solution.
Top players in top teams are able to provide as well as take chances when they come.

I get what you're saying BJU but we now have so many creative players to put it on a plate for him. I would be in with a chance of the golden boot with Grealish, Dewsbury Hall, Ndiaye and Dibbling supplying me.

Some pundits made the point, and it’s hard to disagree with, that Beto’s role was key to allowing the other 3 attackers to find space and cause damage. His job was to engage the 2 CBs, which he did well, and be in the right place to tap one in if it came to him, which he did. He may not be the best striker we’ve ever had, but fans shouldn’t ignore his role in yesterday’s victory. Some will of course.
{Ed025's Note - as i said yesterday JB i thought he done well, i still dont think hes the answer myself but its up to the coaches and manager to improve the players and get the most out of them mate, but this has been lacking up to now, the midfield we have will definitely help him and a big shout out to Gueye yesterday as he is the glue that holds it all together for me and when he went off the discipline went out of the window..

I'll say this though Reg, long may it continue! It's nice to have a debate over top players and top play instead of being down in the dumps every week.
We've still got Dibling to come into this and Barry. They all now know they have to be top draw to displace someone in the starting lineup and for those in it to maintain those levels.
Bring it on!

Which is why it is imperative we get a decent CDM Ed. As good as Jimmy is and if KDH drops, they are not good enough at the dirty work.
{Ed025's Note - we do need another one BN but i feel that could wait until January at a push i feel, i thought Jimmy done very well yesterday and was a bit of an unsung hero mate..

Jimmy worked his nuts off yesterday, but because we have that front three it's hardly noticed. Think the difference for the lad is that when he has the ball he's actually got someone to pass to now.

Whether we like or dislike him as a player (latter for myself) we are all happy when he scores. But it's been said before, we want to progress as a club and therefore we need better quality up top.
Now we have more creativity from the midfield, imagine having a striker who can hold the ball up, occupy the CB's, create space for other players and be able to find the net? That would definitely take us to the next level. That might be hard to find but nobody can tell me that there aren't better options out there than Beto. It could cost us a few quid but we still have cash to spend, and loan spaces to fill, so I feel it's imperative to get in another CF and also a RB and then this has been a very good window for us.
