The big difference for me between this season and last is that we now will have the ability to outscore teams . Previously we were banking on keeping a clean sheet and nicking a goal, maybe from a set piece . Now with the firepower and creativity we have on the bench and on the pitch I would be confident we will score most games and even if we concede we have the ability to outscore most teams .

Martinez philosophy eh. Prefer Fat Sam wìth a dose of brown shoes. Moyes is the bee's for me.

We certainly should not be thinking we are going into a gunfight with a knife. More a double barrelled shotgun called Jack and lliman.

Don't be downhearted though if we hit a few bumps in the road. Progress this season is mid table and not being involved in a relegation battle. Next season we can dream a little higher.
We've signed good young players who will progress and get better. Each summer we should be adding 3 and at most 4 real quality players that sees us get stronger and stronger.
In the meantime, I'm going to sit back and enjoy this nice new approach of playing on the front foot instead of having 11 men behind the ball for 90 mins.

Tbh John, if we get a slice of luck with regards to injuries/ fitness I think we can realistically push for the (lower) European places.
We may not have the squad depth but our first 11 competes against any of the teams outside of the European mainstays for me.
Villa, Forest, Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham finished above us last year. Villa haven't strengthened and have Europe. Forest have had a great window but have Europe to contend with. The rest I think we have a better manager and starting 11 combined. I think the only thing that may scupper us is not having a top striker.
We can certainly be more positive that is for sure mate!

I agree the Euro clubs (Forest, Palace and Villa) will struggle in the league - we always did. Could work in our favour….

I'll take it fellas if it comes but we've suffered really badly over the past 4 years, so I'm just happy to see progress.
We've had a good window but 12 teams have spent more than us this summer. I'll back our buys over any other but some have started from a better position than us squad wise.
I honestly think next summer will be even better and also we'll be a much better squad than the start of this window. I've got bags of patience when I see progress. You can only be angry when you regress or stagnate which is what we've all had to put up with for far too long.

Think we can aim higher than that. Haven't seen anything special from any teams so far, and European competitions will bugger a few up.
