It's probably the Stella and the Toffee Donut talking, but I reckon Baines could still do a job for us!
With regards the earlier game, KDH stood out and after a few weeks training and integrating, we'll have a real player on our hands! I'm not sure what the scouts saw in Barry personally and I hope Beto starts for us against Leeds.
Overall a good run out with an expected result given we haven't really strengthened yet.

Nothing has changed, the opposition has much more possession than us, we lose the ball too easily, can't score and have no player who can deliver the killer pass.
Barry is another Beto. The new guy Hill looks to be a good buy. Aznou looks raw and not ready yet. Looks as if Armstrong will be going out on loan again.

Come on Guernsey have you seen the players behind them no idea why some of are fans have it in for beto he was joint top goalscorer last year just baffles me an Barry it does take time for a player to settle into a new country mate ?.

Yep I get that Andy but for many seasons we have struggled up front if only we had. a Grealish or Dibling or Fellows or another up front the goals would come as for Beto just not for me he misses so many chances and looks so uncomfortable on the ball mate.

Does he miss that many chances? I don't think we created that many chances for him to miss last season, did he have a chance today?
Yeah he's missed some, all strikers do, but does it feel like he misses a lot because we don't create much? If that makes sense.
I'm not his biggest fan, his control is pretty bad, 2nd touch is always a tackle and does look uncomfortable on the ball but saying that I reckon he could get us 15+ in all competitions if we play to his strengths.

You say that Jase but Barry did play a lovely little through ball to Ndiaye and 9/ 10 he’d have scored that. Not sure Beto has that type of close control in his locker.

Because he's just a terrible footballer, andy! Yes, he had a purple patch last season but I think that's as good as it gets for him. Some people on here seem to think he's going to score over 20 goals next season, crazy talk.
Barry is a similar player but has potential and youth on his side, he can get better but, as you say, he's a young lad in a new country and it may take time. He shouldn't be judged just yet really.

You can only go on what we’ve seen, and Beto has scored goals in the Prem. I don’t think anyone has said he’ll score 20 next season.

Dont know, 10 goals in a crap team, with the service we offer? I'll bet he gets 15 this season no problems. He is all over the shop and raw granted, but he is a handful, makes good runs and can finish.

Yeah the through ball for Ndiaye was nice Andy, and surprising. But the chance he had in the 1st half, he just fluffed it.
I know it's early days for him, I just haven't seen anything yet that says he'll be worth the money. I'll be happy if he proves me wrong.

How is he a terrible footballer because he missus more than then he scores I respect you're opinion an view mate but there's no service behind him the lad tries he gives commitment he was joint top scorer last year he won't score 20 goals but if we get grealish an say dibling he will in my opinion get 10+15 goals I have seen few fans on here always say get rid we have been in a relagation battle last 4 years that tfg have bought everton few fans seem where going to chuck money around when we shouldn't be due to the mess we previously got in to with ffp an silly high wages me personally beto should be are main man this season and Barry needs time aswell to adapt to a new country one or 2 saying he's garbage after 2 pre season games give the lads a chance ??.

JB, there's been a couple of posts in the last week that have mentioned over 20 goals for him mate and I just find that a bit mad!
ST, I'd have no problem with him being raw and the same age as Barry but he's around 27 and won't improve much further.
Andy, his football IQ is shocking for a premier league player, just runs around like a headless chicken. If we are to become a top team in this division then we can't be carrying players like that. Not going over old ground again, I've never hidden the fact that I don't think he is the standard of player we should be fawning over, far from it. I've tried to stay out of this argument for the last month or so in all honesty! A game of opinions mate.

I wouldn’t expect him to get anywhere near 20. Especially as you’d expect him to share the no9 spot with Barry. What we need is goals from the squad. You’d hope that Alcarez, Ndayie, KDH and McNeil will all weigh in with a few.
