It won't happen but I would go down the Chelsea route and say it happened under previous owners.

Was reading Burnley can expect £0 to £10 million in compensation, can’t see how they can ever prove it myself.

The previous case around West Ham and Sheffield Utd ended up with a settlement so a precedent was set then. I expect the same to happen to us.

The City and Chelsea situations will be interesting though as whatever happens to us should happen to them. I can see a whole lot of clubs mounting legal challenges if that is the case and it will all become a mess. We could even make a bit of whatever we pay Burnley back through that avenue.

However, this is the Premier League and it is a brand. They will not want to see two of their biggest names dragged through mud as it will hurt their image. Because of this, I have the feeling nothing will happen to them which could imply nothing happens to us. The West Ham situation could have a line drawn under it as the players were ineligible rather than the finances.

Who knows? Answers on a postcard.

Give it a few years and the league will no longer exist as it does due to the Euro superleague that is on its way.

Does anyone remember a time when football was an equal playing field and any club could challenge for glory rather than become selling clubs? The modern game is full of greed and the inequality seen in clubs income and expenditures is ruining the game.

I watched talk sport, the chap they had on there said it would be from 0 to the very highest 10 million so probs more like 5 to 6 mill which they would of already had in place if punished when the take over was done, so we don't need to panick as half of the rubbish they write is again click bait to I don't open any and it shouldn't have any effect going forward.

As they are saying that the point deduction should have been in the season they were relegated then we should pay them compensation. We are putting forward that we didn't choose when the points should be deducted then we can't be held accountable for this charge and we will probably get away with it. They were going to sue the EPL on this charge first, as they would likely lose this point by suing us as it wasn't nothing to do with our decision.

The other part of it relates to the sporting advantage of us spending more. However, our issue related to interest payments not allowed to be removed. We are arguing that we found this out in the December and not at the start of the reporting period and it was included the season before. The EPL won this against us stating we could have sold players in January.

On the second charge we will probably win as the oversight was nothing to do with player purchases so no sporting advantage was gained.

I doubt it will get to court and a settlement will be paid. If it goes to court and they lose then they'll have to pay millions in court costs and solicitors.
