Beto came on last night and immediately fluffed two great chances one at his feet and one off his head, he is never going to be anything but a sub just soooo clumsy, my opinion of course, we so much need a new striker.

He was on for 30 minutes and bagged our winner mate ?
As it stands he’s comfortably our best striker at the club and personally my mates and I are rooting for him.
Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole Beto, Beto. Utft.

He also took control of the ball far better than Barry and linked the forward players.

Funny game isn't it. To me he just looked clumsy, has no spacial awareness and his finishing is poor. Yes he scored but come on even he couldn't miss from there. The highlight for me was when he was one on one with the defender just outside the area and the defender fell over but he still past the ball?

I thought Barry did ok nothing particularly great but beto came on at the right time when Mansfield has to go for it and then abit more space opened up, Armstrong should of squared it for Barry then he would of had a tap in and then all of a sudden it's a different player, just been listening to sky and they said Drogba took 3 years to adapt to the prem so let's not all write Barry off yet, plus I think the service wasnt great when he was on and beto seemed to get abit of luck with some of the balls deflecting of a defender and landed at his feet which again never happened while Barry was on the pitch.

He had moved to pass the ball before the defender fell over. He was obstructed by Dibling for the header. I’m not his biggest fan, but I do believe that people are just jumping on the bandwagon, he outplayed Barry last night for me.

Yep game of opinions mate when Barry first played I thought his touches etc were good not so sure now looks a bit like Beto if I’m honest, just hope Davey can get another striker in before the window shuts.

One goal against league one opposition, a tap in from 2 yards, doesn't suddenly make him a top striker. It's not jumping on any bandwagon, it's just an opinion mate. We definitely need another striker, especially since it looks like Chimiti could be heading out on loan, must be something in the pipeline if that's true.
{Ed025's Note - lets hope so BP..

Exactly bluepotato he’s simply not good enough to start week in week out sub at best.
28 Aug 2025 12:32:53
More ad-libbing, never once said he was a top striker. Also have said we need a new striker. Let’s not let the facts get in the way of a good story ay?

He’s not a top striker though which we all already know but out of what we’ve got he’s proven to be the one who has goals in him, this year he’s in double figures.
We were all saying in the summer that the rebuild can’t all be done in one window so being that we’ve already brought in a striker there’s other positions first that are a priority (a RB! ) .
I like everyone else hope we bring in another striker in but if we don’t then I’d put all my support into the ones we’ve got rather than getting on either of their cases. Clearly the majority of our goals are going to come from the three behind whoever DM chooses to play anyway.
I’ve personally still not given up on a Richarlison loan before Monday. He’s stated he wants to come back and they’ll be A LOT of business done this weekend, spuds are hunting down Savinho as we speak and already have the likes of M Tel and Solanke.
Wishful thinking.

Whilst he might not be the finished article I think the fact that he gets these chances is a big thing for us. He will likely score 10-15 goals if he stays and if you reflect on him and DCL from the other night, I'm more than happy to keep him.
I think he wants to leave though.

Pasty has hit the nail on the head as far as Barry goes. Armstrong squaring it would have changed the game in the first half. It would also have influenced the opinion on Barry somewhat.
It’s disappointing we’ve spent so much on potential when we needed an established finisher. Beto is not a world class striker but he’s the best we have. I like Barry and thought some of his touches were good. The forward line seemed to get in each other’s way at times and that’s something that needs addressing by Moyes and the coaching staff.
I don’t care if we score tap ins as long as we score and win games. As DPP has said, it’ll take more than one window to sort this mess out. RB is the priority. CDM next. Striker would be great but I’m not sure it will happen.

Nothing to do with jumping on a bandwagon it's a personal view, and from where I was sitting he looked poor. He should be running at the defender and had he done he would have had a clear shot on goal. Mind you saying that he did have a clear chance on goal and fluffed that. let's just remember we were playing a league one team here.
Now where's that bandwagon again?
28 Aug 2025 15:03:32
JB, nobody is saying you said anything so don't take comments as a personal sleight. The first part of my last comment was my opinion, a goal against lower league opposition doesn't make him a top striker and I think that is a very fair remark.
Maybe I should have said 'that's not jumping on' rather than 'it's'
Beto is marmite and splits the fan base. I'd get rid in an instant as I think he is a very poor and limited player, others think he is going to score 15 to 20 goals this season! If we keep. him, we have to hope our midfield chips in with plenty of goals as we can't rely on someone who has piss poor control, gets caught offside far too much and offers very little to the team other than he works hard. That's my opinion, make of it what you will.
