We need to change our mindset.
Doesn’t matter who the players are if all they’re going to do when they get anywhere near the opposition box is pass it sideways or backwards.
We were terrible yesterday, the odd occasion we got in a decent position no one wanted to take a man in or get into the box the ball was always played in a negative way - sideways or backwards, it’s so frustrating.
I’m not sure any striker would have done much better yesterday as pretty much the whole team yesterday showed very little attacking intent.
We need players to want to take on their man, get balls into the box, attack - it’s embarrassing the team don’t seem to want to do it.

Spot on GD. I thought that we would get to see this with Nidaye and Grealish on the pitch but imo, it was a terrible decision from Moyes to put distance between them and play them on opposite flanks, especially after Alcaraz had played so poorly. One of them should have gone in the 10 and then they could have interchanged with one another.
All Leeds had to do with Grealish when he came on was double up, just as they did with Ndiaye.
Whilst you are right about any striker being able to do better in terms of getting goal scoring opportunities, I don't think anybody has called Beto out for that last night. It is the other aspects of his game that were absolutely shocking. I can't remember one time he got the ball under control or found one of our players. We may as well have had 10 men he was that anonymous.

It's time to stop making out that Beto is hampered by the lack of service from wingers etc. Beto is hampered hy his own inability. He's very, very poor. Granted, we didn't create anything of note but explain his hold up play on the halfway line, explain how he came off second best in probably all of his duels.
I'm afraid the only mindset that needs changing is that of those who keep telling the rest of us that Beto has the quality that us Evertonians demand and expect. He is a very poor Premier League forward no matter which way you slice it.

We set up to hit teams on the break but we are to bloody slow for that. Agree nobody wants to take a player on at pace, they just dribble a bit and go backwards.

Can’t disagree, Beto was poor last night and I’m a big fan of his.
However the whole team from an attacking perspective were terrible - there were some glimmers when Grealish came on, kdh improved in the last 10 minutes so think there’s some hope.
But if the team continue to play negatively nothing will change.
Crazy that Ndiaye our most creative player made more tackles than crosses or shots.

I think Beto himself hampers the attacking play, notice how nobody wants to pass to him in build up? Its because he can't play football and even the other attackers are starting to notice, they're trying to keep the ball by not giving it to him in passing play which is a joke in itself and bizarre to say, but its the truth. he's half good when he's through on goal, but you need the ST sometimes to be dropping back, making 1-2s and dragging a defender out to then make a run in behind, or take the ball neatly at his feet on the half turn so we still have posession and the rest of the team can follow him. At the moment every time the ball gets passed to our ST, our team have to win a 2nd ball, it never sticks to his feet. If we got a ST that could play football properly and not just run fast and kick it at the goal, the attacking play would open up so much to the rest of our attackers, they'd have another option.

BN, you are bang on their, not a chance should grealish and Ndiaye be so far apart, one on the left and one in the ten, a million percent, Leeds were rubbish last night but unfortunately we didn’t stand up to their hunger and desire which to me should be a given . With no natural left back last night maybe it should of been back 3 with wingbacks, still fuming tbh.
