We spent £4-6m on Travers. Why did we buy King also? I assumed Travers was experienced enough to deputise for Pickford and we’d get a youth goalie as a third choice. Thought it a bit strange.

When Moyes suggested we needed 9 signings I didn’t realise two of them were keepers! Seems pretty bonkers to me.

Isn’t there some emergency rule where we can recruit another goalkeeper if we can’t field one and have one on the bench?
I’d have stuck with Tyrer, save the money and then recruit someone if we needed. Chances of losing Pickford and Travers would be extremely rare.
Any sign of a RW or RB that we desperately need?

If Moyes thinks we need him, we need him. Doesn’t stop us looking at other players. If Pickford gets injured, don’t we want two decent replacements? Seems sensible to me for a special-ist position.

Personally think we are playing a blinder this summer. No longer an owner running the club at the whim of the fans. 2 weeks left and all the time in the world to snap up some more players who'll improve this team. The neurotic lurches on these pages remind me of someone with acute bipolar.

The signing of Tom King is one reason can’t get excited about recruiting decent players to the youth ranks.
It’s hard enough as a backup goalkeeper to get minutes but what’s the point for any of our youth keepers wanting to stick around when you’ve now got 3 keepers ahead of you in the pecking order?
Surely should be giving one of the youth keepers some exposure to the first team set up and they could sit in the second goalkeeper seat on the bench?
Makes little to no sense spending money on a journeyman keeper who won’t play anyway - save the money and use a youth keeper instead.
