I just wanted to give a big shout out to a couple of players that deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Jack, Ndiaye and Hall.
First off Keane. He's come in and for me when JB is back fit would stay in the side and Tarks be benched. He has been calm and assured and not put a foot wrong. I know this is Keane and that at some point he's probably going to have a brain fart but I think he's been outstanding since coming in to the side.
Gana. I wish he was 10 years younger just so I could sit back knowing I've 10 more years watching him play. He's not though but at 35 he's been superb and again not put a foot wrong. He was the one player I think every supporter wanted to stay and was so happy when he signed. Whatever we're feeding him I could do with some myself.
Finally Jimmy Garner. He had a poor start to preseason but since the Untied game in which I thought he was MOM he has been our best player. I know Jack will get most peoples shouts but Jimmy has been asked to be left back in which he done a fantastic job and scored from the LB position. Can't remember when one of our full backs came up with a goal. However, now he's back in the middle he is feeding KDH and Jack with early balls, consistently which gives them plenty of opportunities to showcase their play. He really does make everything tick.
Bring on Villa and the rest of the season. honestly looking forward to every game and every minute of it.

BJU partially correct both goals down to our CBs. But out of the two based on Tarks form it should be him on the bench.

Excellent post John mate. Agree completely with your comments about Garner, he has been excellent both in attacking and defense and his stamina has been unbelievable. I like many supporters was saying "Oh no! " when Keane was offered an extension but he has been a model professional, stepping in when needed and you will not hear him complain when JB returns, although Davey is going to have a big decision as to who gets dropped.

Wolves 2nd goal. could Keane of cleared it. probably, but for me the biggest culprit was Mykolenko. Absolute oblivious to him man running in behind him. All in all a very sloppy goal, but fully agree with keanes form. Tarks has had a fair few mistakes already. Like his pass back against Brighton where pickford had to rush out and block shot. He's looking very shaky. Keane passing is far better than tarks too. But I've a feeling that when JB is back, Keane will be man to step aside. But you can't knock his professionalism. Doesn't moan, just gets himself ready to help the team the best he can. He's bloody handy when needing a goal at the death too. Out of our 2 current CBs I know which I'd want the ball to fall to 25yds out when we need a goal.

I think Tarks has been off form all season and to be honest I think his form last season was starting to dwindle. Keane has been the better of the two. It’s an odd one because when it comes to picking one of these two (when JB is fit) I think reputation is, in many supporters eyes, more important than form. As a result, I think, a number of fans would rather see Tarks picked over Keane. I feel they will both need replacing next summer, but for now I’d pick Keane over Tarks.

Of course this should be the centre back pairing, but until we sign a rb, we will have to play JOB there.

From what I have seen of him O'Brien is not good enough to be a starting CB for us. Not quick enough to snuff out the danger for me and gets caught flatfooted and awful lot.

Would take Keane out as soon as possible. Can accept he's started better than Tarkowski but i blame him for that second goal, an absolute standard Michael Keane mistake. Tarkowski been very poor but pairs great with JB. Keane will make more mistakes, its what he does and he will cost us a game sooner rather than later.

Keane is a confidence player and plays better when alongside Tarks, as he has no responsibility as Tarks is there to martial the defence, give that role to Keane and it’s too much to think about.
Tarks plays better with with JB because he’s not worried about what JB will do because he’s confident JB is solid, competent and reads the game well combined with pace.
JB will be our future captain with Jake alongside him.
